Save A Lot is committed to adding unmatched value to our communities. We’re constantly innovating our business model to make it as efficient as possible. Our model is designed to save our Retail Partners time and money while seeing a strong return on investment.
Part of the success of our business model stems from our strategy to carry limited assortment in smaller footprint stores. When you open a small grocery store with Save A Lot, you can offer low prices and quality without compromise while being anchored to the communities we serve. With more consumers concerned about the inflation of food prices, there’s never been a better time to consider a licensing opportunity with Save A Lot.
We’ve been building a reputation for quality and value since 1977. When you become an independent Retail Partner with Save A Lot, you’ll see the benefits of our strong reputation immediately.
Many of our stores are around 15,000 square feet. Our smaller footprint allows for an easier shopping experience for both our customers and Retail Partners alike.
Having a smaller footprint comes with several advantages:
- You’ll be able to run highly effective, productive stores.
- You’ll require a smaller staff, as often Retail Partners only need two to three staff members at a time.
- You’ll pay less in rent than larger conventional grocery stores.
- You’ll spend less time restocking shelves since we display products in their original shipping boxes.
The goal of having a smaller footprint is two-fold. It helps our customers find what they need quickly for unbeatable convenience and low prices, and it helps reduce overhead, labor, and operating costs for our Retail Partners.
Save A Lot works with a limited number of stock-keeping units (SKUs). Traditional grocery stores carry anywhere from 15,000 to 60,000 SKUs, whereas an average Save A Lot may carry 3,000. This reduced assortment provides a more efficient shopping experience, so that customers can get in and out quickly.
By offering fewer SKUs, we’re able to give our customers more. We offer more than 50 high-quality, low-priced private label brands that provide customers a better value for their money. This gives our Retail Partners better margins than national brand equivalents.
We’re able to deliver market-leading everyday low prices through the buying power of 1,000 stores. Our everyday low pricing (EDLP) strategy provides savings over other supermarkets on both private-label and national-brand products.
We’re also able to stock products that are tailored to the diverse communities that we serve. This way, we can better cater to our customers’ needs and build relationships locally. We’re proud to be an integral part of the communities we serve.
We’re all about efficiency and profitability, and our deep discount concept allows Retail Partners to leverage the high demand for savings. We’re able to keep our stores consistently stocked with the in-demand items customers need. Our Retail Partners have more freedom to run their own business with the support of an experienced team behind them.
Our flexible requirements mean our Retail Partners can see more opportunities. Many opt to take their investment further and open multiple locations. Multi-units allow Retail Partners to cultivate a larger customer base and quickly build a strong following in their area.
